I'm really at a loss of words at this point. I'm not sure how to even start this email.
I saw a video earlier today that WTP was invited to collaborate with from Nahed Hajjaj, a journalist from Gaza. I watched it once, heartbroken, and went on to witness the next horrific video coming out of Gaza.
The video was a sea of kids, some lifeless, some bloody, some crying, some starving, all of them in pain. They were all lying on the floor of Al-Shifa Hospital since there are no beds to accommodate all of the injuries rushed into there.
Nahed called me three hours later. He said the scene broke him and that he wanted to talk about a specific little girl who kept reaching out to the doctor to be held. She was pulled from the rubble alone. Her family was not found. She cried with all the other children just wanting to be held.
He told me to take a screenshot from that video and write him a caption for Twitter since english is not his first language.
I watched the video again to get the screenshot, and I froze. I asked Nahed what was happening behind her since he was still on the phone with me. He told me the girl behind her had her intestines spilling out of her stomach.
I'm still sick to my stomach. In a state of shock. What evil. Even though we've seen these scenes countless times, it never hurts less.
Hit the streets. Protest. Make noise. This is the final solution for the occupation. They are exterminating Gaza and they are counting on your silence to do it.
