"Travel lovers need to be especially kind to themselves."
| | | | | | Why Every Traveler Needs to Prioritize Self-Care in 2022 | After a whirlwind of uncertainty dominated the last two years of my life, I decided to take matters into my own hands. This year, I am fully committed to something I like to call "aggressive self care." Just what is aggressive self care, you ask? It's eating dinner on fancy plates for no reason. It's a quick spritz of your favorite perfume before you go to sleep, just because. It's hydration—lots of hydration—from your favorite water bottle. It's lighting a candle as you sip your morning coffee. Even the air needs to be up to snuff—my humidifier now has a permanent place beside my bed. I've even started journaling—something I haven't done since junior high—which I've found has had some direct effects on the dreams I've been having (almost all of them begin with me getting on a plane). Everyone has had to make major adjustments to their normal routines during the pandemic, but I think travel lovers need to be especially kind to themselves. Our greatest passion is on hold right now—and while we may not be able to visit Bora Bora or Barcelona like we planned, it's important to keep our mental health in check so that we'll be bright eyed and refreshed when it's finally time to head to the airport. If you're with me, here are the products you need to go all in on your year of aggressive self-care. Because guess what, 2022?
